A closer look at the project

The brief, context, and coordinated thinking behind the work.

Tehran Pars Hospital LDR Doctors’ Rest Room

ESPO designed and delivered the doctors’ rest room serving the LDR department at Tehran Pars Hospital in 2018 as part of the wider maternity and women’s-care interior program. The room was planned as a calm, organized retreat for short breaks, focused work and recovery between clinical duties. It forms part of the hospital’s larger 7,000 m² project scope.

Balancing recovery with clinical readiness

Because LDR care operates continuously, the rest room needed to provide privacy and short-stay recovery while keeping physicians close to the clinical department. The layout therefore combines lounge seating, a compact work and study zone, storage and a short-rest area within one efficient room.

Compact multifunctional planning

Integrated millwork, desk and shelving, personal storage, comfortable seating and the sleeping zone are coordinated to make effective use of the available footprint. The result is a room that supports different staff needs throughout long and irregular shifts without feeling crowded.

A calmer material and lighting palette

Light wood, neutral surfaces, deep green upholstery and natural daylight create a warmer and more restorative atmosphere than the surrounding treatment areas. Controlled lighting and practical finishes maintain the level of durability and ease of maintenance required in a hospital environment.

Design outcome

The LDR doctors’ rest room functions as an important staff-support space, providing a practical setting for rest, brief work, study and recovery while remaining visually consistent with the wider maternity department design at Tehran Pars Hospital.

From challenge to outcome

From challenge to outcome

How the team translated project constraints into a clear and deliverable response.
