A closer look at the project

The brief, context, and coordinated thinking behind the work.

Design and Execution of the Entrance Gate for Shahid Rajaei Heart Hospital

The entrance gate design and execution for Shahid Rajaei Heart Hospital in Tehran was developed to create a recognizable, orderly and dignified arrival point for one of the country’s leading cardiovascular medical centers. Beyond its symbolic role, the gateway also supports the clear organization of vehicle access, visitor movement and arrival control.

Architectural identity and entrance performance

The gateway uses a prominent arched form and a continuous architectural envelope to establish a memorable identity for the hospital entrance. At the same time, the composition helps define entry and exit movement, integrate the guard and control functions, and improve the legibility of the arrival sequence for patients, companions and visitors.

Durable materials and execution quality

The entrance facade is executed with durable exterior materials suited to long-term performance. A balanced combination of neutral panels, warmer cladding accents and strong proportions gives the gateway a contemporary appearance while reinforcing the institutional presence of the hospital.

Lighting and recognizability

The project also considers the importance of effective lighting so the entrance remains identifiable and visually prominent at different times of day. Together with the architectural form, this improves wayfinding and strengthens the hospital’s public image.

ESPO’s design and execution approach

In this project, ESPO focused on architectural quality, execution durability and functional traffic management to deliver an entrance gateway that supports both visual identity and everyday operational needs for a high-traffic healthcare campus.
